I am the same way and was lucky to be in ICU the first few days because I was on CPAP. They usually do a 24 hr watch in ICU with my dr if you are on CPAP, but no rooms were available so I was there 48 hrs...then I got put in a room with a crazy woman and even with all the pain meds I couldnt sleep...I asked for a private room but they didn't have any. So perhaps you should look into it beforehand. I'm sorry...it's not fun but it's worth a few days of no sleep and sharing a room for the results i've had...I'd do it all over and wish you luck!
