Howdy!

I am 8 days post op with Dr. Callery and I can tell you how it worked in my case: I finished all the labs/evaluations and then it took about 2 weeks for Dr. Callery's office to get all my info together and create a very strong case for me and send my request to the insurance company. They called me the day that they sent out my request and I had my approval in about 2 1/2 weeks (but I'm sure that depends on the insurance company). Karen (the dietician who works at Dr. Callery's office) told me that the insurance company only has a month to respond, but again that may just be HealthNet. It is agonizing waiting for the approval! I had been turned down twice in Indiana before I moved to Cali, so I wasn't sure what to think...

I tell ya', when I read the history that Kelly Neil put together in order to show proof of medical necessicity for me, it really blew me away. She presented my case so well that I don't know how the insurance company could have possible said this surgery was not medically necessary! The whole team at Dr. Callery's office is so good and they get everything done as fast as they can 'cause they know we are waiting for that heart-stopping phone call when the Doctor's Office calls us and asks us to schedule that surgery date!

Keep your eyes on the prize - you'll have an answer as soon as possible!
