Default I have the mirena

Our surgeon said he "highly recommended" that we use some other form of bc besides the pill b/c the hormone changes and absorption issues after surgery would make the pill less affective. I seriously didn't even want to think about getting pregnant so I went with the Mirena IUD about 4 months before surgery. I haven't had any problems with it. I still have a period and they've been a little different that before but nothing major. Overall, its been great and my doc said that my periods might even get lighter, less frequent, or even stop after a few months. Some people might be wary of that, but I'm all for it. And the fact that I don't have to even think about it for the next 5 years is a bonus. I guess its just whatever you think is best for you.
