Gena,
Welcome to the TT forum and so great that you found the site.
Your feeling are true and your story gives way to how someone can certainly find temporary relief in making friends with food. I can relate to everything you have said, as depression, sickness and death where all with me on and off over some years. I too kept telling myself that weight loss was something I could get control of and handle. Until I reached my late 30's and early 40's I thought I was a unique obese person, active, outgoing, did and went where I wanted and thought I was immune from weights affects on the body. Then came the infections in the skin from so much fat layer in my abdomin causing bad circulation, diabetis and excellerated artheritis in my left him causing me to almost stop walking all together just before having the lap. gastric bypass on the 18th of May 2007. But I was told I had to loose weight to get the hip fixed and that there was no way the prosthetic could rehab with all the weight ontop of it.
You are in the right place to find support, answers to questions and people who genuinely care. Dont think twice about spelling as we all understand what you are saying and we all make mistakes with spelling, its no biggie here.
I wish you all the best in your choices and fact finding.
