Well, lets see.....I thought about it for about 3 years. On 9-8-07 I had an extremely scary experience that landed me in the hospital. By the time I was discharged, I had decided I wanted WLS but had to wait to have my stress test and get the results from it. I had a follow up appointment with my PCP on 9-28-07, and approached the subject with her, and she was all for it, since she knows I've struggled with my weight for years. She gave me the phone number for my surgeon's office and told me they had periodic informational seminars. I called as soon as I got out to my car, and by chance, there was one scheduled that very evening! I got signed up for it, and my journey began there.

My insurance requires a 6 month pre-op education plan, and I started that on 10-17-07. I had to skip my December appointment because I was on vacation and out of the country for most of the month...so that put me behind a month. I finished up my classes on 4-9-08, and had my last pre-op test (something I had neglected to get earlier, duh!), on 4-11-08. Nutrition drug their feet with signing off on my stuff (for 2 weeks!), and had to be given a "push" by the medical secretary after I called and asked my status. After that was finally done, I was submitted to insurance on 4-24-08, and my insurance company approved it on 4-27-08...although I didn't actually find out until 4-30-08. The following day I got my surgery date, which is 5-29-08.

OMG, I just re-read this for typos, and realized I wrote a book. I tend to do that. Sorry!
