My 2 week preop diet consisted of a specific bariatric product. You can find it at Bariatric Diets and Nutrition - SmartForme. The stuff wasn't too bad and I was able to purchase it at a discount from my surgeon's office. Before surgery I had to eat 8 points a day. The liquid stuff was 1 point each and the solids were 2 points each. Other than that I could have sf popsicles, decaff tea/coffee, broth or water. After surgery I was on the same product but could only have the liquid products and I had to eat 4 points a day.
I know its kind of expensive to purchase a product but I really was rather relieved that I didn't have to think very much about what to buy. I had it all. We purchased the entire amount we needed for the 2 weeks preop and the 2 weeks postop all at the same time. It just took a lot of the stress of eating off of me.
