Question So this is me :) Long winded as usual

So here I am. I guess the fact I even found this forum goes to show that I'm interested in the prospect of WLS.

Here's the Dealio. I've been "lumpy" all my life. I say lumpy because it feels better then saying fat. It helps to hide behind the humor of it, but I digress....

So here I sit, 26, Lumpy and unhappy with it. I'm 5'8" and at my biggest I weighed 275. That was 5 years ago. After picking up smoking and starting a waitressing job, not to mention all the marijuana I smoked, I got down to a squishy 210 with out any effort on my part...There lies my plateau.

Since those days, I've moved again, started working as a stylist, quit smoking both ciggarettes and Pot, and married a fabulous man who's trying his damnedest to tame me. And with all things concidered I've crept back up to 250.

Over the past year I've tried everything to peel the weight back off, but it seems my efforts only maintain my current weight rather than take anything off. I even tried combining dieting and excercise with Alli (the OTC version of Orlistat) I lost 10lbs but as soon as I could no longer afford the Alli, it came back.

More recently I tried The Zone which I think might have worked if the portions didn't leave me feeling starved. So now at my wits end I'm wondering if the LapBand might be for me. I figure if my stomach pouch were smaller, something like The Zone or any other diet might actually work because I won't feel starved or deprived. I understand the work involved and I'm not a completely sedentary person to begin with (I hike, backpack, kayak, etc) but would a Dr. feel it's right for me?

Which brings me to my conundrum...My husband and I want to have kids ASAP but after 2 miscarriages partially due to my weight I'm wondering which should come first, pregnancy or the Lap Band?

So those are my thoughts in a nutshell...any comments or advice???
