I just started oral meds on 04/15/2008. I can already see a downward trend in blood sugar starting in the past day or two. With average of 220 ( the month before oral meds), the past three tests were 140, 130 and 129. Well see how it goes as I am going to cut out all processed sugar and really keep carbs down as much as possible. Just that things were going well towards surgery and this is the first time the Hgb Ac1 level was over 8. Since I have a long vacation scheduled late Sept. (out of the country) I was hoping to have surgery before Mid June so I would have 3 months to heal and get on solid foods. If not I guess I will have to wait till Nov.
