New Balance makes some good shoes, in a lot of widths....I think they go all the way up to EEEEEE. They are numbered, and in general, the higher the number, the better the quality of the shoe. New Balance shoes are made on different lasts, and certain ones are for problem feet, and some are not. (Lots of info about this on their website.) If you can go to a GOOD shoe store (not the places in the mall where kids work), and get fitted, you're much more likely to find a good fitting, supportive shoe. I have a shoe store in my area that has a pedorthist (sp?) on staff, and they will actually watch the way you walk in the particular shoe, and make sure it's a proper shoe, and proper fit for your foot type.
