If your insurance won't cover it and you become a 'cash' patient, make sure you ask a few important questions. Really make sure you understand how much you'll be paying for what, not just an 'estimate'. And be sure to find out what happens if you have any complications from surgery. If you have to stay in the hospital longer, will your insurance cover it? What if you need another surgery due to a complication, does insurance kick in then? What if you need to go to the ER after you're already home from the hospital ... what if ... what if ... just be sure you fully understand what you might be getting yourself into.
I wish you the best of luck ...
