Good luck to you. I hate running but one day would like to WALK it (Boston Marathon).
What's GU?
I worked with a national group called team in training. You may want to look them up. They will offer professional coaching and support for you. They are all over the country too.

If you can click off 3.2 miles averaging a 7minute mile you are there on speed. Marathons are about endurance and consistancy. I would suggest starting to increase your runs with a trainer. Thats what I did. He also suggested two weeks prior you tape way off. The week of the run you are only supposed to do a 1 mile breakin a day at most. Atleast thats what he says.

Its called a downcycle and aparently alot of runners who are doing their first marathons do them. After awhile I guess your body just adapts and gets used to it and you don't need it as much. I know people who do a marathon a week if you can believe that crap.

best of luck to you. The posts in this section keep getting more and more ambitous and I loooooooooooooooove that.

You rock.
