My original list was 3 x calcium citrate, 2 x B-12 sublinguals and 2 x multivitamins a day.
Now, bearing in mind that we malabsorb everything we put into our mouth, I didn't think that was good enough. And my first set of bloodwork confirmed it. Although all were in the "OK' range, a lot were way down in the lower levels. That wasn't good enough for me.
And there's growing medical evidence that the RDA of most vitamins and minerals is too low anyway.
I took a wider range of supplements beforehand so just did a little more research into the potential issues that RNY patients might have.
This is something you need to discuss with your surgeon/nutritionalist. Please don't just go taking additional stuff - it can be harmful.
