I cant tell you what my Dr has us follow and it has worked for me so far.

first I was told to get my water and protein in.. each and every day.
I drink at least 64 oz of water, even on the days I didnt feel like drinking I still drank it. I get at least 60 -100 grms of protein in day.

For the first month I was on full liquids. I know its seems like a LONG time but it really helped. For the second month we are on pureed. Adding a different food a day like testing the waters.

He said that it takes 9 weeks to heal completely. So we need to work up to that nine week mark, and after nine weeks we can eat just about anything as long as we follow the rules.

I see people eatting food just a few days after surgery and think "hey why cant I eat that". The answer is simple, I am six weeks out and doing great, following what my Dr says. I eat 3 -4 small meals a day, getting all my protein and water and vitamins in, and I feel good, and have lost 30 lbs.

I am able to eat 3oz of food, tuna, chicken, turkey, (all salads) I had pureed pork with a little gravy, I have ground beef, like taco meat style, all with out issues. I believe its because I waited and followed what my Dr wanted.
