Default Well...I'll smash those toes!!!

Do not stop your metformin!!!! Not now anyways...

You really, truly need to be in the best possible shape to have this surgery and if you have a HIGH glucose level...it's going to screw you up in the long haul, that is if your doctor will even do surgery! My anesthesiologist tested mine right before surgery. I KNOW first hand how crappy Metformin/Glucophage can be on your tummy...talk to your doctor about possibly changing medications, there are alot out there to try.

That said...yes, I had two milk shakes, In-N-Out, and other not-good-for-you foods...and I hardly EVER ordered milk shakes (maybe 1 a year). But know that you will be able to eat your favorite foods...you may need to "modify" them to fit your pouchies mood-swings though.

Again...PLEASE get those sugars under control...this is your LIFE you are risking...can you say C-O-M-A?

Sorry...but it concerns me greatly.

Cathy

PS~ I "weaned" myself off of caffeine prior to surgery...I'd highly recommend that too!
