I don't want to wag any fingers, especially not ever having had diabetes, but I am gravely concerned about your blood sugar. I level that high can put you into a diabetic coma or suffer very serious side effects that, in addition to other things, could be grounds to cancel your surgery. =0/

What you are talking about in terms of "last meals" is a phenomena called "Last Supper Syndrome" (please correct me if I'm wrong). I think many people feel the need to say goodbye to "bad foods". I understand this and admittedly had my farewell from Olive Garden. If you are going to do that, it needs to be controlled. Sticking to a medication routine will be very critical post-op, especially with uncontrolled diabetes you need to take care of yourself an think about why the rules are in place. The liquid diet (usually 2 weeks before surgery) is used to shrink your liver, but also to quickly reduce weight to make overall surgical risks lower.

Please please consult your surgeon or PCP to get your sugars under control.

(I hope I didn't step on any toes)
