Yes, you should definitely feel better after the first week. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and still felt pretty rough on the following weekend. Getting the drain out will be a blessing, too. Just make sure you take some pain meds BEFORE having the drain out and let someone drive you to the appointment. I felt immensely better a couple of days after getting drain out. It DOES get better! Hang in there!
