Welcome and congratulations to your husband on his up and coming surgery.

Firstly, you need to know that surgery is NOT an easy option. This is a common misconception.

Your husband will be given a tool to help him but he will still have to work hard to modify his eating habits and make wise choices if his surgery is to be successful.

I can understand that you are anxious about yourself but you are right. This is an ideal opportunity for you to make some changes in your eating habits and lifestyle too.

I hope he won't mind me mentioning this but I know that Mike's (fisher100) wife has done remarkably well in keeping to her diet since his surgery. Hopefully he'll see this thread and chime in.
