Welcome
Hi Georgia and welcome to TT.
I think everything you are thinking and feeling are definately valid thoughts and concerns. I would say yes that you will be a different person, happier, more loving of yourself, esteem build up, so many positive changes are ahead for you and those who are in your circle of family and friends. This surgery has given me so much in 11 months, I only want to encourage you to stay positive, trust in your surgeon, be gentle on yourself and have patience.
Even though I did not have extensive stomach surgery prior to gastric bypass surgery except for an operation 44 years ago when I was 3 months old for pyloricstenosis, which was actually changed during the surgery to make the passage into the stomach smaller(or at least I believe that is what I was told).
These tests you have ahead of you are helpful for the surgery and can provide insite for the surgeon and Drs. you are working with.
Please dont give up on this opportunity you have. However at the same time be well informed by your medical team and listen carefully.
Wishing you a great journey ahead and look forward to hearing how it is going.
