Don't worry, he's feeling guilty (as he should) and will figure out a way to make it better. If not, give him this ONE and let him know it better not EVER happen again. This reminds me of a surprise party being thrown by a friend of mine for my 30th birthday. We show up for the party and there's NO ONE there. My husband's (ex) only responsibility was to invite people and he forgot! I know at the last minute he called the ladies in my office and said "there's a party tonight for Robin if anyone is available"! NOT! I was mortifiied.
