I had to take chewable for the first 3 weeks. After that I could go to the regular pills. Some people have a hard time with the pills and prefer chewable but it isn't a must. On the other hand, if you are having problems with your labs you may want to go to liquid or chewable. You tend to absorb those more easily.

Like Sherry mentioned you will want to stay away from time released meds. There is a good chance those might go right on threw with minimal absorption.
