I read similar things somewhere else but this is the one that I could find quickly.
I am not trying to bash the surgery by any means just trying to be my mothers voice now that she is gone. She was very active in these forums (i can't find the exact one that she was on unfortunately but I figure i am reaching just as many people on this one).

Wikipedia is hardly a trustworthy source of information. Since it is updated by many regardless of qualification, it could (and probably does) contain inaccuracies.
Additionally, the sentence in the portion you quoted is referring to pre-operative patients, not post. I still doubt the validity of the number regardless of preoperative or postoperative status. I did A LOT of research before I had the surgery, spoke with several doctors, and investigated several doctors and their results through the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. (Which certified my doctor and his entire practice as a Center of Excellence.) This is the first time, even being here on this board with multiple experiences, that I have heard of the liver and kidney problems.
I'm sorry you are feeling the way you are feeling, but it's better for all if accurate information is passed, especially for our preoperative and newbie folks.
