I've noticed a few of us on here have had the new challenge of needing to gain a few pounds and I'd like to know who you are and how you've successfully gained a few pounds.
I'm concerned because my "good" weight is 145. I had a family tragedy a couple years ago and wasted away to 115. It was horrible. I regained it but it was a long time ago and it took awhile. I don't want to get even close to that again, but now I'm 130. Too skinny (according to every single friggin person that knows me) and I'd like to put back on 10 lbs.
I have only gone UP (to 165) since my total weight loss, but I took it off easily by modifying portions (and quitting beer!) This should be just as easy right? But there's a part of me that's afraid if I start to TRY to put on weight that I'll get fat again (yes, silly I know, but it's one of those kind of fears we all deal with eh?)
So I've started the protein powder, Atkins bars, and continuing with the right healthy food choices. I never eat junk food - except for drinking Coke - I just eat healthy. With very little appetite and it's been over five years post-op.
I'm concerned that this is happening again. I've had a lot of busy stress, emotional stuff, etc. I've had very little appetite and too busy to eat (changing that already), but as I purposely eat more I notice I AM getting hungrier and can eat more. Scares me. Ugh. That never-ending fear of getting fat again huh?
So any voices of experience or suggestions (aside from the ones I've already started) will be really great to hear.
Thanks
