You might try a gym that has water aerobics in it for the exercises to be easy on your knees. The water takes the pressure off of your knees and you can move more freely without over straining yourself. I know it is hard because you feel as if the whole world is watching you, but they really only care about their own progress. So, dive in and give it a try... There will always be a few rude people, but we are used to that already so you can just let it slide... You will be doing your body a great favor by doing it...
