It appears that different doctors have different protocols. Also, if a person needs to lose more weight before surgery, they will put them on liquids sooner. I noticed that some insurance companies require a 6 month diet prior to approval, but mine did not. However, since Sunday I can only have 3 protein drinks and loads of water daily because he wants me to lose 10 more pounds before surgery.
