I would like to introduce myself and tell you a little about myself. My name is Linda and I live in Massachusetts.
I had a lap RNY on 2-4-08. Just days before my 45th birthday.
My highest weight was 242. Day of surgery 238. Today 212.
I am very glad I found this site. I have been reading the different post daily and wow is all I can say. I have learned so much. I have tried receipe's ,noted what meds not to take, learned that this too shall pass (1st week) and most of all I'm not alone!!!!
I didn't believe I would ever have this surgery. I didn't think I was that unhealthy (that big person in the mirror wasn't me, I would think)After a 2 year lapse in seeing my doctor for a physical. I went and got hit between the eyes with the news. I knew I had gain weight didn't really know how much but knew my breathing was getting worse, you know the shortness of breathe you get going up stairs or just walking around. The doctor came into the room after getting all my test results and said you need to go to Dr Mun at Faulkner Hospital and make an appointment for GastroBypass surgery. I was like shouldn'y I try Jenny Craig. I was told I didn't have time (note, family history and dangerous high blood pressure, cholestrol and sugar levels) I needed to get the weight off sooner rather than later. So within 3 weeks I had the surgery. It has been a whirlwind.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look foward to hearing from you
Linda
Wow, Linda.. three weeks! Barely time to catch your breath I would think!

BTW.. there are several of us mass people here on TT.. I've been spending all my free time* here on this forum reading past and present posts, learning as much as I can. Lots of good people here, it seems to me

Best of luck to you!

(*significant it is, as I'm still on med leave until tomorrow!)..
