I haven't had to see a doctor since the second week after my surgery...totally complication free, so I know that probably colors my answer, but I would do it again even if I had to do it every 6 months for the rest of my life.
Also, regarding getting pregnant. I was told that gastric bypass cures more infertility every year than fertility drugs! A doctor I spoke with said that he actually recommends that every woman of child bearing age go on birth control even if they've had a history of infertility because otherwise they're likely to show up pregnant before they really should.
At almost 18 months out, I am positive that I can take in enough calories to maintain a healthy pregnancy. I plan to start trying this summer sometime. Any guys want to donate? lol
