Hi Everybody,
Well I came home this morning. Really quite uneventful (please don't let the pain gods be listening). I was supposed to be second case, then when I got in my room for pre-op check in they said I was first case- hooray! Then the head nurse came in and said "were you originally scheduled for tomorrow?" AAAACCCK! I said "nope!". She said ok and off I went as first case.
I woke up in recovery for a couple of hours then off to ICU where my nurses were a hoot!
It was bright and loud but I got such terrific care. Debbie, Susan, Shirley and Mick were so wonderful. Answered all of my questions and kept me laughing.
I met one of my sister surgeries in ICU but the 4th floor was so crowded I could never find her again!
When they found me a bed(on the 4th floor), finally, on Tuesday afternoon I walked walked walked and sip sip sipped on the fourth floor. My IV began to bug me (it had collpsed the vein and was very painful even with the morophine) so my nurse, Tamara called Dr. Callery for me and he said I could try to manage without the IV all the way to the next day's discharge. The night nurse didn't get the message or something, but all night it felt like she was chasing me with that IV needle trying to put it back in! Turns out one of my urine outputs was not posted and that made me fall into to category of needing more IV fluid or something, she wanted to either put in the IV or the Foley cathater! Yikes!
In the end I won until about 5am when the lab came to stick me for a blood draw!
I did go lap, have just a few lines on my tummy and just a little pain. The gauze has come off and Kelly and Dr. C say I'm doing fine. I go see them next Thursday.

Any one lurking out there wondering if you should (like I did) do it!...I can't wait to start my new life. It was worth it all, and me just 2 days post op!
