That is terrible news! I'm so sorry -- I didn't even know that was something that could happen! I agree with your husband that this is a serious situation and would not be confident in having the same surgeon. If it was me, I might be curious enough to meet with my old surgeon if only to hear what he has to say for himself, but there is the factor that this is something that you might want to consider speaking to a medical malpractice attorney first. See if you have a case, and if so the attorney might recommend you NOT speak to your old surgeon anymore at all. Research other doctors in your insurance plan. Again, I'm so sorry this happened to you, but I suppose you can take some comfort in knowing that there is a reason for all your troubles and that it can be repaired. Some people on this Forum have many problems in their recovery and yet the doctors can't find out why. I honestly wish you the very best of luck with whatever next step you choose to take.
