It's hard when other's say things like that. Do know that you could die....but there has been MAJOR improvements (i.e. laproscopic, increased knowlege, etc) from many years ago. If you're coming into this surgery thinking "Hey, this is a quick fix" you'll be sorry, but if you've researched and really thought about the life altering changes and KNEW that you are willing to change your lifestyle...then more power to you!
I'm only 2 weeks out and it has amazed me how my mind has already changed...I get hungry, but I don't THINK about food 24/7...I control food...it doesn't control me! Yeah, I realize that things may change as time goes by, but I feel so empowered by my decision...that I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
Sorry to go on, but only you know if it's the right decision for you. Another way to look at it is...would your kids want a chubby mom for 10-15 more years or a thinner, healthier mom 30 years?
