Default Congrats! I've been there.

It is so exciting whenever I hear about a gastric bypass patient that is pregnant! Pre-surgery, the fear of never being able to be a mom was bigger than any other fear.

I am now 5 years post-op and have a wonderful 3 year old son (7lbs 4oz) and two beautiful twin infant daughters (about 4.5 pounds each).

There is SO MUCH I would love to tell you. Here are some random things:

- Discuss the "sugar test" with your OB. This is a test to check for gestational diabetes. I never took this with either pregnancy, but I had to be treated as if I had diabetes....checking blood sugar, etc. Never came close to having blood sugar issues.

- My biggest concern was consuming enough vitamins/protein/etc. to ensure my baby/babies were getting enough to develop correctly. With my twins I could hardly keep anything down, let alone vitamins. I found some that I could finally take. Check out my gastric bypass website for all the details.

- I never had any problems with my incision. Not sure if you had an incision or laparascopic, but it was a big concern to me that turned out to be of no concern.

- I am now the mom that I always feared that I could never be at 300 pounds. I hope that you can experience half of the joy that I have now that I am a mom. Good luck!
