As you get further out you will be able to eat more. That is a general fact of the surgery. If you're concerned then I would say go back to basics again. Keep a journal. Protein first. 3 meals a day. Fluids, fluids, fluids. Regular exercise.
I would say that as long as you're following the rules and aren't eating more then about 1 1/2 cups of food at any given time that you're honestly fine. There are people who measure their food for very long periods of time and that is one way to keep it under control. I would also just keep track of what you're eating to make sure that you're getting in what you're supposed to when.
