I wasn't given a "bedtime" either. They told me to relax and watch TV for as long as I wanted. It's funny, I did turn the TV off but didn't feel like I slept at all...until the nurse woke me and said I was o.k. to go home!
I was also dreading my sleep study but it's really no big deal. The biggest thing for me was not being able to sleep on my stomach because of all of the gizmos that were attached to me...but once I got past that, obviously, I was able to sleep.
And don't be weirded out thinking about them "watching" you. They really aren't "watching" you so much as watching the feedback from the monitors hooked to you.
Good luck...let us know how it goes!
