I'm a REAL post op now!! WOOHOO!!!!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm home and I feel relatively fantastic!
Of course there's some pain, most of it is when I try to get up out of a low chair or from laying flat in the bed, but, John got me a pillow wedge today, so I FINALLY got some sleep, and, NO Christina my dear sweet friend, I didn't take the valium, because the horrible nurse on that floor that night, didn't offer it, and she even made me sleep in my clothes!!!!! hmpft!!! That is the ONLY complaint I have about my experience with Pomerado.
Dr. Callery said that surgery went very well, with no complications or difficulties. I had a problem yesterday though, when they took the Foley out, they told me when I voided 200 cc's I could go home... well, it took till 11:00 last night to do that!! sheesh!
and then it was only 50 cc's and I had to have a special chair to do that! THEN, the nurse, Cindy was her name, she was magnificent, she had to do a straight cath, and she got 100 cc's of residual urine, so, they knew I was just retaining fluid, hence the 10 pounds that I gained after surgery! My luck! LOL ... But, they said I could home, by the time they got all their paper work done and we loaded up the car with all the beautiful flowers, bears, cards and balloons I got, it was just passed 1:00am when we pulled into the driveway.... exhausted, yes, we all three were... I couldn't sleep, I just couldn't find a comfortable spot.. today though, after the wedge that John brought home, he's wanted to give me a wedgie for years, *wink* lol I was able to finally have a good nap.
I just have to say, that if there's anyone out there who doubts the support that comes from this group, you better do some heavy soul-searching....
I had 12 visitors from this group, not counting family that came... Some of you know how my eyeballs are located in my kidneys I'm just a very sentimental and tender-hearted person, on Wednesday night I was very emotional with the show of care and support that came from the people of this group..... John and I and my mother Dorothy are so grateful to each one of you for taking the time to come to the hospital...
Thank you..... Karen, Christina, thank you for the bear and the card, he's so soft.. Renee and her hubby Scott, Tonya and her mom Linda, Andi, thank you for the balloon, Katy, thanks for the clothes, they're going to sure come in handy, Dale, Suzanne, thank you for the great card showing what is GOING to happen on the "other side", Graycee, thanks for the clothes and the food that will come in handy and Tracie, girlfriend, you spent hours with me, late into the evenings, helping with things that the nurses should have done, when I was just miserable, and John had left to take my mother home, there you were, at my right hand... thank you my friend, you were my life saver!! Love ya!
Thank you everybody who called John to check on me, you ALL will never know how much those calls, and the visits meant to me, and to him too. Without all of you on this group, I don't think I would have made it this far, you ALL owe yourselves a pat on the back, and gold star on your foreheads!! teeheee
I know this has been long, and some of you may not read all of it, but, at the same time, I know some of you will, take this note of thanks to your hearts, because, that's where it's coming from....... mine!!!!
Much love, from the other side!!
