It's an American Harvest Snackmaster Dehydrator
Toony - Pineapple juice is a great idea. I will try that. I was also thinking maybe fruitfresh or something along those lines.
Beth - My brother in Law says he loves okra so I might have to try that. I've never eatten okra. What is a good season to purchase it? Remember I'm in Michigan and I haven't really been lloking for it either.
Pat - I think it takes 16 - 18 hours. I went on line to try to find some times, storage etc. as I have moved a couple of times and can not find my book. I think I may have to contact the company to replace it.
I picked some apples off the tree in the yard tonight and have them going right now. It's potatoe harvest time up here in Northern Michigan and potatoes are fairly inexpensive right now so I think I might try to do a few of those. My family likes the Augratten (sp?) potates, although I don't make them very often, it would be kind of neat to try from scratch. Currenly I'm looking for some fresh parsley. I dehydrated quite a bit a few years ago and I use it in almost everything, but my supply is getting low. I think I might also do a few onions (In the garage) just to have on hand for soup too. This is also supposed to make jerky and fruit rolls....things that make you go Hummm. Anyway, as I said any recipes welcome. I used to can alot, and am now looking for alternatives.
Thanks guys.
Sharon
