I did have an iv..and had sf popsicles and some ice. I don't recall being really thirsty, but I was on pain meds too. I also had severe nausea/vomiting from the anesthesia, so they were giving me meds for that as well. I'm sure they hydrated me through the iv. I went home 1 day after surgery, and felt great. I do remember not liking the taste of anything..water, crystal lite, broth, etc. it was all gross! I still hate sugar free Jello and creamed soups to this day! I do remember it took me HOURS to finish a glass of protein shake or water! It's weird to look back on it now. I did and still do love those sugar free fudgesicles!
