one of my good friends had lap and everything has went well for her. She had just about as much pain as I did with the open, and stayed in the hospital the same amount of time. Only difference with her was she had one more drainage tube than me... but I think that might have just been her surgeons preference.
I for one have no complaints with my open procedure. My scar is only as long as the width of my palm... My surgeon said he would keep it as small as he could...
I say go with what your surgeon is more comfortable with. If he refuses to do Lap and that is what you want... well find another surgeon
