So I searched google to get better idea about how much he should be eating and found this neat tool, the portion plate! Check it out. They have one for kids and adults. Let me know what you think!

That is one tall ten year old! But that weight sounds fine to me! I'm trying to get my son down to 120, but I have no idea how to get 50 pounds off a 12 year old other than some extreme boot camp thing...It may not be much, but he has stopped gaining for now. He gained about 15 pounds in the last year - I just don't know how he's doing it! and it REALLY freaks me out. I would do anything to help him. I bought a bike, send him to crazy fun camp, take him swimming.

The other thing I wanted to say was that when I was 7, I wasn't overweight. When I was 8 I was VERY overweight. Same exact thing happend to my son. Photos at 7 1/2 he was a model. By 8 - porker. Genetics means something, I know! I just hope and pray he doesn't end up needing the surgery I just had. I want him to conquer this on his own! Well - I'll help if I can, but you know what I mean.
