It takes a lot of courage to start this journey. It takes a lot of support to go through it. And it takes a lot of love, hard work and patience to be successful at it. You seem to be on the right path! Read lots, ask tons of questions, no matter how trivial they seem. Dr. C is the man as far as I'm concerned, so you are in very excellent hands.
