Hey there J..
welcome to TT! I had my surgery done in Boston, as well... (mine was at brigham & woman's)
I do know that they have support groups at B & W's hospital so if I were you, I'd check their times out if the ones at BI aren't a good fit for you time-wise.
I'm glad you found your way here to TT. I hope you'll find it helpful here. To be honest... what you've come back here and said is a fear of mine, that I will fall off a slippery slope and end up regaining. It's what keeps me tied so closely to the forum.
I know that a few have seen me as the 'food police'... but your own story is WHY. The little bite here, cuz it's someone's birthday or the little bite there because of a promotion- and the truth of the matter is, there ARE all these milestones in life and everyday can be a celebration, and we often CAN find a way to justify that nibble here or there.. 'just a little taste'.. and we can taste our way back to being obese if weren't not careful!
You're so smart to nip this in the bud right now before you do end up with a significant regain. You should be proud of that!
One of the things I see suggested here on TT when someone comes back with this issue is to just get back to basics. Go back to the pouch rules.. makes sure you are not drinking before/during or after meals. Don't drink carbonated beverages. Focus on your protein first, then veggies, then fruit, then and only then have a bite or two of non-processed, whole grain carbs. If carbs is a personal issues for you, try doing the 5 day pouch test to help kick the carb cravings.
www.5daypouchtest.com/ is where you'll find the information on that one.
And please, try to come here often.. let us know how you're doing. You CAN do this.. many people will tell you that the pouch still works, if you work it! You aren't alone and there are many here that will be behind you all the way!
Good luck!
