Default Help me please...

Hey there everyone...it has been way too long since i have been here...i am here for life now...i fell off the road to my new me last year with life changes of selling my first home and moving...only to find that my 5 month temporary home became permanent so i still live out of boxes...and then to be railroaded out of a job that i was successful at by someone that was fired a few months after i left...then to go thru the anniversaries of my father and my grandmother passing and then holidays and the horrible snowy winter here in ri...and to feel so alone i thought i was in a dark barrel of water trying to come up for air... well some time has passed i went back to counselling, adjusted my antidepressant, and finally have had the courage to go back to see my surgeon...boy was that helpful...i am ok...gained some but i am ok...i am slowly getting on track but it is hard right now...

not to mention all the a*#hole men i metsince i have had my surgery have not helped...but i decided that i am worht a lot more than what they were offering and decided not to settle anymore...so i am alone by choice and ok with that...

i am posting now asking for moral support and if anyone has words of wisdom...i am now beginning to watch what i eat and make better choices...and i am wanting to start on the treadmill again...my books are packed away does anyone know of a quick reference for protein...i was so ashamed i could not even say how much i had taken in the other day...

thanks in advance...jamielyn on the road again

My word of wisdom to get on the road again is to steer you toward:

1) journalling your food and your feelings
2) the 5 Day Pounch Test
3) find a support group near you
4) keep contact with TT regularly, even if just giving support, by giving you get tons back in return
5) whatever exercise you can get, walking or the gym, but get active -- something that gets you out of the house and not thinking about life or problems
6) rid your home of all contraband foods and junk

Getting off track is one thing, never getting back on track is the travesty. You're back on the right path now. Good luck.

Day 188: Century Club - 100 lbs down
Day 366: 1 Year - 146 lbs down
Day 396: One-derland - 153 lbs gone forever! (my pic progression)

Starting BMI: 60.4 / Current BMI: 33.6

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!

Marella
It has been a while since I have seen a post from from you. I hope all i well.

Jamie
I am glad you are here looking for advice. Although I have not much to add to Marella's post as she covered all the bases. I am young in this arena but you have declared independence and that I am very proud of you. You can and will over come the obstacles that have been thrust on to you and you can do it. Good luck

Hey sweetie... I'm here and in One-derland, Baby! Thanks for your concern -- aside from current sore throat and laryngitis, I'm living it up!

Obstacles happen - it's what we do when confronted with them that counts. We can watch the obstacle, cower and be afraid, therefore, do nothing and let it take over our lives -- or we can make a move to win.

Let's all win... shall we!

I cant remember who has the quote on there tag line but it says something like "whatever you do, do it your best" I feel that is spot on. And yes how we handle these obsticals in our lives is what makes who we are not how we are.

Congrats on the 1derland. You should be very proud of yourself. I hit the 3derland and I am down 70 pounds since april. Super stoked. The last 2 weeks have been difficult exercising, my son's graduation, college visits, party planning has been enough exercise. I need to start back this week.

The nut. for my support group said a good "general" rule for protein is 7g per oz. pretty much straight across the board. She said it might vary a little up or down by one g or so but that is a good general rule.
