Debbie, I love you.
Your post is so timely, as we get to this point in our journey, we can eat more, and a bigger variety. It is so hard to resist...and once you let yourself have a bit of it, your body just craves more. It's not easy...if it was, i'd be much lower weight wise than I am, honestly, at this point, I'm having to be so cautious with what I eat, and with working out every darn day (HARD). If only paying for the gym membership burned calories! oh the joy! It's a struggle most of us are dealing with, an ugly little secret. I bounced up a bit, but am back at or below the numbers in my siggy line...knowledge and honesty with yourself are the best tools in your arsenal right now!

Seriously, you can eat turtles and not get sick? I can't, but I can eat a whole bag of microwave popcorn, dammit.

I'm on that "honeymoon" period of I couldn't care less if I ever eat again. I know this won't last, and I thank you and applaud you for sharing. Do any of us ever really lose the desire to eat forever? It won't be me........I can tell you that. I will feel very comfortable coming here and asking for help when it happens to me. Thanks again Debz and all the rest!

My biggest struggle is after 7 p.m. It's like I go nuts or something. I don't eat "junk" for the most part. But I DO eat - Kashi Go Lean right out of the box, almonds, more cottage cheese, chips (okay, they are junk) - and anything I can find that DH has hidden for his lunches at work.

I am determined, tho, that I will be accountable, and will get thru tonight, at least, without binging. I need a new GOOD habit for reading at night. Like maybe drinking more crystal lite. Like staying out of the bedroom until it's time to turn the lights off and go to sleep!

I actually got a box of Whitman's chocolates for Mother's Day from our church - and I think DH took them to work with him this p.m.! I can't find them - so he must have! Bless him.

It IS a struggle. No question about that. Boredom is a killer for me. I have been known to have really bad eating days.

I know I can eat almost any sweet and not get sick. The exception is ice cream. Sometimes texture will briefly cause me distress. It's a challenge because the carbs do sneak up on you. It's harder when you tolerate them so well like I do. I can't eat large meals but, nibbling is definitely my challenge.

I went to Fitday this morning to plan out my eating. Thanks, Debbie, for being honest and starting this discussion. I think it's been a help to many of us who need to get on track!

Now, can anyone remind me of the ratio of carb to protein we should be getting each day for weight loss?

I have the same problem I am a night eater. What I do now is when I am making dinner I also cut up a big cucumber and put it in a baggie and eat it about 9pm. The cucumbr is very low in calories and almost no carbs so it is a perfect snack to have late at night. I eat 3 a day mid morning snack afternoon snack and after dineer. My trainer says this is a perfect snack. Or try beef broth or chicken broth that takes the edge off as well.

That line above was so funny...I had to point it out.

Everyone is watching. Everyone knows I've had GBP...and I know many of them are just standing back and waiting for me to explode into that fat girl again. I know people are looking at me right now thinking, "Look...it's happening". I was up 12 pounds from my lowest weight, and I know 12 pounds shows. My clothes fit different. Sometimes I don't even wanna leave the house. I need to respect myself again.

I know what you mean I have had many people talk about the people they know who gained it back!!!!

Hey, my name is Debbie, and Im a foodaholic. Thanks for listening, my friends.

Your last line of being a foodaholic was the truth My name is Alex and I have a food addiction. I had my annual cookie party last December and had gained some weight. I knew it for sure when some people I had not seen in a while showed up and instead of the "you look great" I got im so glad to see you. That is a change and one of those if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all.

I got my shit together and stopped eating the crap and started working out. Now 5 months later I look better than I have through the whole experience. No more back fat, minimal muffin top and great summer legs. LOL. Keep your chin up and take it one day at a time like you said. That is all we can do when we fall get back up and dust our selves off. Im proud of you. Big hugs from Arizona!!!!

Nighttime is also bad for me. I started having a scoop of protein in cold water (abt 8 oz) and then I toop off my super big mug with hot water. It doesn't clump and it is filling. I have to make it pretty fast, or I'll shove something else in my mouth. If I drink one before bed, I am usually good and am not hungry. Re protein, My surgeon said that it takes protein to actually lose weight. He recommends between 70 -80 gms daily. We also can only absorb 30 gm at a time. I didn't buy some MnMs yesterday JUST based on this page. It was so cool that I could hear your wonderful voices in my head all the way here in Seattle. Thanks so much for supporting us in our heinous journey that apparently will never actually end.
