Help
Since having my surgery done, I have had very minimal problems. Up until Christmas. I have pretty much stayed very clean since my surgery. No sugar, not white refined flour foods. I am down to 117 from my highest of 330.
The only thing I did go back to is smoking (i know gross but i am trying to quit) So I eat a little bit of pork and veg on Christmas Day around noon. Around 7pm I started getting horrible pains in my stomach. I could not get comfortable, felt like horrible gas pains. I thought maybe I had a little too much, and kind of stayed away from food for the next couple of days.
Two weeks later, same thing happens. Horrible stomach pains, my stomach felt bloated and gassy, although I did not feel any nausea, nor did I throw up. They take a few X-rays at the E.R, says it maybe an ulcer, the doctor puts me on Nexium.
I call my G.P who tells me there is really nothing he can do for me, because my anatomy is different. So I schedule an appointment with the surgeon who did my bypass. Two weeks go by, eating again, pain subsided (although not totally back to normal)
Today I ate lunch, an hour after, horrible bloating, my stomach feels distended, no throwing up, but I just cannot get comfortable. I call the surgeon again who just tells me if the pain goes away he will see me on the 18th, if not, then go back to the E.R
I have not had one problem with the surgery, I don't know why this is happening all of the sudden. Has anybody else had this happen to them? I don't overeat, I eat very nutritious, but as of now I am afraid to eat anything

Wow what a success you are!! I don't have any knowledge or anything to add I just saw your weight loss and the timeframe and just wanted to say bravo.
I hope you get your answers soon.
Could you possibly be eating too much? Have you weighed your food? and also do you still have your gall bladder?
...go red sox!!

I had my gallbladder removed in 2001, and I do not feel like I am overeating. For lunch i had an Ezekiel whole grain tortilla, with two paper thin slices of turkey, two paper thin(almost see through) slices of swiss cheese, and a small green apple.
I chew my food until it is almost liquid. I also do not think that it is due to overeating just for the fact that I do not vomit, or even feel too full or sick. I am really scared because this is happening every two weeks out of the blue and the pain is really bad.
They took an x-ray of my stomach at the local E.R. If my pain does not subside tonight, I am going to the E.R of the hospital that did my surgery.

The x-rays they took were fine, I am hoping that I will stay pain free until I go back to see him. I don't know the nexium takes 6-8 weeks to heal things up, and I have been on it now for about 4 weeks. I am hoping that it is something that can be corrected.

Sorry for the pain, I can relate somehow. MAybe smoking if you need Nexium might not be really recommended. What could it be? Ulcer, scare tissue? or anything like a starting hernia? Wait until the 18 or go to the ER. Let us know.
And how for going down so much weight. Amazing. Get better

I quit smoking before my surgery and was told that if I started up again that an ulser could result. Having had an ulser in the first couple months of this process I know it isn't fun but no use taking the Nexium if you continue to smoke.

I'm also wondering if maybe you are lactose intolerant and you are eating something with lactose in it.
I am, and that's how I feel after eating anything with lactose in it!
