Default Know why i am vomiting!!!!!!

Ok so i went and had my EGD today and we found out what was wrong. Now the problem is they need to have a meeting of the minds to figure out what to do. The blood vessels around my connection are weak and dying. That is causing massive swelling. The opening and exit of my pouch are about the size of a pencil eraser. And my pouch is still only a little bigger then my thumb. So because of my perf they don't want to risk trying to stretch it with the balloon. That leaves at me having a revision. I guess that explains why nothing will stay down. So it looks like i will be going under the knife again. I will get to talk to my doc tomorrow so i can get a better version of why the vessels are dying. I was out of it so that is what my husband was told. The cool thing is is i got to keep the pictures.

Kasey, so glad they found the reason for your throwing up but I'm sorry to hear it will require further surgery. Wow, you have gone through ALOT! Let us know what the doc has to say tomorrow.

Kasey, that's good news and bad news...at least they've figured out what the heck's going on. Sorry it means more surgery, it sounds like things could get rougher before they get better. Keeping you in my good thoughts...

How this can be happenning? Is it is risk seen long term after this surgery, or was it because of an other reason? Sorry for you Kasey, at least you know and after this revision, you will be able to start living again.......

Courage, take care and let us know.

After any surgery...the long term effects can be the death of the blood vessels in the surrounding areas of the surgical site. The blood flow is interrupted and/ or re-connected...even if retakes initially, vessel death does occur. The opposite can happen too, too many vessels regrow around the sites and can cause constrictions. I had a huge vessel (not suppose to be there) grow around my anatanmosis site and when it burst suddenly inside my small stomach, almost bled to death. This occurred to me two years post op...took a few units of blood and several clippings and burning of the vessel to get it to stop bleeding. Since then, no other occurrences.

Marie increadible what you have been through.

Befor gettign the GBP, I really thought innocently that after a period of about 2 years, its over with the risks. Actually it is never.. still stay on the alert mode.

After all what happens I still wonder how the insuarances cover this surgery. Probably still cheaper than long treatment for all obesity diseases......
