2Y Post-Ops-Daily Calories?
Sorry guys if I'm becoming annoying with my posts . It's just that lately I have been obsessing about my weight/food/calories/exercise...so much more than before. Maybe it's because I'm on summer vacation and have nothing else to do?
So, I've been tracking my foods/calories on Spark People and I am ranging from 1550-1800 calories a day !
As far as carbs...it ranges from 198-291.
With protein I'm good.
Just curious...what are your numbers at 2 years?

Eli, I don't count my carbs so I have no idea when it comes to those. When I do have carbs I try to make sure that most of the time the carbs come from fruit, whole wheat grains, etc. yeah, I do have the occasional white breads but usually only a couple times a month. Now in regards to calories? I try to keep it at about 1000-1200. Occasionally I go over that but not very often.
My nutrionist is telling me:
1000-1200 calories
<40 grams fat
70-90 grams protein
I try really hard to stick within those parameters.

Tend to be 1200-1500
I stay somewhere around the 1200 to 1500 range... when I count, which isn't often. I try to take stock at least once a month or so, and particularly if I pack on a few pounds.

Lisa... what the heck girly, how are you?
I consume about 1300 cals daily, not tracking carbs or fat at this point but I do when I go up past 125... usually it's to much grazing on crap food.
Protein is always good... at 70-100 a day. I still drink my protein coffee every morning. Love the stuff.....

I have no idea what my calorie count is at - never counted and am scared too in a way. I do know that there are days that I eat terrible food choices, to days that I barely eat (not hungry!) I tend to nibble about 5-6x's each day with hearty wheat crackers, granola bars, fruits, veggies etc..etc..
I've noticed that nibbling is better for me versus sitting down to a meal. I feel forced to eat!
Now, where is my calorie counter?...

Yeup...I was scared too and with reason. I eat well over 1500 calories...just like you I have terrible food choice days and days where I can drink stuff all day and not feel really hungry. I gave up counting for now...

I know this is an older post but thought I would add my two cents. I think calories and what people consume just cannot be compared to anyone else. This is what gets so many people in trouble to begin with. We are told the average is 2000 a day when most “average” people do not burn this much. What I suggest to everyone is to have your metabolism checked so you have the facts. Then you are aware of how much your body burns resting and if you work out. I was a low burner and that made a lot of sense. While websites told me when I plugged in my numbers that I burned over 2400 calories RESTING a day .. the truth was I was burning 900! So After finding that out and changing my life and adding work outs daily I was able to raise that number, but not by much. I now burn just under 1450 calories a day. So I stay at around 1200 calories everyday or I know I will gain..
Don’t just go by averages or what your friends take in. Get it checked so you can be aware and know what you can have. You don’t want to unknowingly take in too much when you think it’s ok. I wish I was the average though.. taking in 2000 calories would be fun!

I was at about 1500 for a little while, with little sport the weight took the stairs. After reading the daily cals of some of our TT friend, I reduced to about 1200-1300 incl the coffee milk. It seems OK for me. Of course I have systematically to refrain myself (quantity is big, but very little lipids or carbs).

I know it's an old post but I'll add my 2cents worth:
Not all carbs are created equal Eli - how many were from good sources and how many came from crappola?
I'm 17 months out but I do eat a good amount and this is my daily intake (give or take):
1,877 calories
34.4g fat (17%)
286.7g carbs (56%)
****46g dietary fiber
120.1g protein
I restrict my starchy carbs (wholegrain bread and cereal etc) to 1-1.5 servings a day. The rest comes from ff milk, low fat yogurt but mostly fruit and veg).
Take a look at Sherry's thread - it's interesting: What Did You Eat Yesterday (or today)?

Like the majority of other long-term WLS people here I don't count calories.
If I put on a couple pounds I don't want, that take me over 145 lbs., then I know what to cut out because I KNOW what the bad calorie foods are.
This far out I've learned pretty darn well just what I should be eating and it's just the way I eat now.
Counting calories is very smart if you are struggling with regaining and I'd do it if I had that problem and couldn't figure out why it happened.
