Arrow Starting A Plan/Food Journaling (Again)

After my last post about feeling hungry, I decided that perhaps I haven't been doing such a great job at eating. I've been exercising but now I have to get back on track with the food. So I need your help on the average amounts (of carbs, calories, protein, etc.) I should be consuming. I did a search on the site about this and this is what I came up with:

No more than 15g of carbs for each meal.

60-80g of protein.

1000-1200 calories a day.

Less than 30g of fat a day.

Less than 10g of sugar at a time.

Does this sound about right for a 2 year post-oper? What am I missing?
Thanks for the input.

Sounds good to me, Eli. I don't count carbs myself so I'm not sure what the recommended carb intake is. But the rest is what my surgeon's office recommended for me.

1000-1200 calories

<30 grams fat

60-80 grams protein (I actually do more like 70-100)

I'm proud of you making the decision to start journaling. It's a great move on your part and what I feel is the first step to getting back on track.

*LOL* Well thank you for the compliment, Eli....I've just walked in your shoes. I've struggled with getting those last pounds off and I've seen how helpful it is to start journaling again. Sometimes we start to lose track of what we are eating and writing it out helps keep us accountable to ourselves.

For myself I found others who wanted to journal too so we emailed each other every day with what we were eating. It was a great help.

So good for you for getting yourself back on track right away. I really feel that is the way to do it!!

You'll be fine, lovely lady....you have the right mindset. You really do and I am very proud of you for taking control!!

That is a great plan! I need to do better myself. These Starbucks drinks are holding me back...financially and on the scale!!! I'm going to use these next few days I'm home to avoid Starbucks and try to eat right and folow the old "if you bite it, write it" rule.

Eli,
There was just an article out this week on one of the news channels (CNBC I think) that said journaling is one of the best things you can do to stay on track. That is probably one of the reasons that Weight Watchers is so successful.

I'm back to that too...it's amazing how fast the calories add up when you can consume more again...writing it down makes me think about it before it goes in my mouth.

I saw the article on MSN (I think and) I copied it to my blog, if anyone wants to read it. That's one of the reasons I decided I should start journaling again...I have these 3 pesky pounds I've gained and I am so close to goal. I so want to get there.

Thanks! I did a search for it before I posted and couldn't find it. I was wishing I had saved it....
