Buon Giorno Amici(Good Day Friends), Well we arrived in Pisa sun shining and many tourists walking around the Leaning Tower area where the University of Pisa Hospital is located we went to the exact location where the surgery was performed for this 1st post op check up. I had a scope entered into my mouth and down to the area of surgery. It was not the most comfortable situation I have experienced but I tend to be a big baby when there is any pain or discomfort, just as I was starting to panic that I could not breath the proceedure was over, the nurse and Dr. and Bernardo all wondered why I was laughing and smiling at that point, I told them because the proceedure was finished. Everything looked good, the Dr. advised that the surgeon had made my passage to the stomache a little smaller than usual as in the future it would prevent abnormal stretching, I had not read anything like that nor was I advised that this was the proceedure, but whatever, its Italy and they work their way here. After the proceedure I proceeded to the scale where I was delighted to see a drop to 174.6kg which equated to 385lbs. I am so excited to get started with pool therapy this week as I can only imagine what some exercise in the pool will accomplish. After this we went to see a young man who is from the South of Italy who had his surgery 3 days before me and is back in the hospital, his mother could not come with him as her husband was in an accident and has both legs broken so she called my partner Bernardo to pick him up at the Pisa Airport an take him to the hospital(they live about 8 hours to the south), the poor guy developed ulcers and has not been able to eat or drink anything for 10 days and before that was only small bites of pureed food, the Dr. will keep him and get him nurished and work on the situation so we will be his serigate parents until his Mom can arrive.
