Consultation to surgery time really depends. I've seen people get it within a month, others longer.
Some people become lactose intolerant after surgery, some don't. It just depends upon your make up. Yeah, I loved cheese before surgery and really had to think about that, yea, for about two seconds, whether I could live without cheese or not. My tastes really changed, but I still love cheese and coffee with my milk.
I would have given up anything (food wise) to be where I am today.
