Hi Steve and welcome, using this site will give you help and support as you go through this process, as the other members suggest read read and read. Ask questions to those who have had your potential surgery, evaluate why you were advised of this surgery and what your personal hope is for yourself if you have the surgery and loose the weight, which is going to happen. Personal I had the laproscopic gastric Bypass which are seven little incisions across my stomache and I am happy for doing it, I am one month out and I know I am already loosing weight, it is not a fast process, but a starting over process with your eating and stomach, like some have said to me it is like a new baby and must be cared for as so, patience, caring, slowness.
