Default What is your weigh-in ritual?

There have been a lot of posts lately with people being frustrated about gaining weight/not losing fast enough/morning vs. evening weighing/etc. So I'm curious: when, how, and how often do you weigh in? And what, if any, weight patterns do you notice?

After surgery, I weighed in once (and ONLY once) a week, on Friday mornings, after I got up and had my morning pee (), and of course, NAKED. I get on and off the scale usually 3 or 4 times in a 5-minute period, just to see where the numbers average out... and with my evil scale, the first number is always the lowest by at least a pound or so. (I still take the average and not the "best" number.)

I notice that I lose more or less depending on where in the month I am in terms of my period-- for a couple of weeks I'll lose only a pound or so a week, then out of nowhere I'll have a 3- or 4-lb. loss one week.

Lately, I've been getting on the scale on other days during the week, even though I still only count Friday mornings as the "official" weight for the week... I notice on Monday mornings I am often down 3 or 4 lbs. from where I was on Friday, but I also tend to get very lax with fluid intake on the weekends, so that loss is usually attributed to not getting in enough water-- by Tuesday or Wednesday, most of those 3-4 lbs. is back on after I get back to drinking in 60+ ounces of fluids a day.

Now that I'm 6 months out, I'm not as crazy with the scale as I used to be... early on, if I had seen a "gain" number, I'd have been pretty devastated. Now I'm finally coming to terms with how my body changes from day to day, and it doesn't freak me out anymore. (Of course, I'm still only 6 months out and I'm still losing pretty steadily-- when things start to slow up more, I'm sure the frustration will return with a vengeance!)
