Dumping is so capricious! I can generally eat ~15g of sugar now before I dump. However, I dumped Saturday on some homemade (lardy) refried beans. Fried food causes dumping. Fatty food causes dumping. Sugar alcohols are more heinous for me than a little bit of sugar. That being said, sometimes I dump on less than 10g of sugar, or I don't on 20g. It just depends on the day, my energy, my overall health, my stress level.
The fact that dumping is capricious is exactly what keeps me from overindulging. Am I out in public? Or am I at home and just want a little something sweet? m&m's are great for that, since I get over the chocolate after maybe 10-20 at the most. Before the GBS I could eat half a big bag no problem, so a dozen eaten one at a time, tasting every bit and crunching the shell is a treat. If I am out in public I am much more conservative, as sweating like a pig and feeling all barfy aren't very sociable.
